Seedance asset management

Availability

These pages document the 13 Seedance asset-management routes implemented by Modelflare, including fields, states, and ownership rules.

Note

Calls require a media API key and an available media channel. Asset creation is asynchronous; only Active assets can be referenced with asset://<ID>. Asset-management operations do not add a separate user charge.

Photorealistic and real people

Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5 cannot take a photorealistic person, a real-person photo, or a realistic face as an image URL or Base64 payload. Upload the image to the asset library first. After its status is Active, reference asset://<ID> in the generation request content[]. A real person must complete the liveness check below and then use the returned real-person group. Images without a realistic face can still be sent as an image URL.

Create a video asset	/volc/asset/CreateAsset	Add a video to an existing group. The returned ID can be used by supported Seedance workflows after processing.
Create an audio asset	/volc/asset/CreateAsset	Add an audio track to an existing group for supported Seedance workflows.
Create a visual validation session	/volc/asset/CreateVisualValidateSession	Create a mobile liveness session. The user opens the returned H5Link to complete the identity check.
Get the visual validation result	/volc/asset/GetVisualValidateResult	Query a visual validation session with the temporary token returned by CreateVisualValidateSession.
List asset groups	/volc/asset/ListAssetGroups	List groups with optional name, ID, and group-type filters. Reads do not incur generation charges.
List assets	/volc/asset/ListAssets	List assets with optional name, group, and group-type filters. Wait for Status: Active before using an ID in a Seedance request.
Get an asset	/volc/asset/GetAsset	Read one asset by ID. Use this route to poll an asynchronous upload until Status is Active or Failed.
Update an asset group	/volc/asset/UpdateAssetGroup	Rename an existing asset group.
Update an asset	/volc/asset/UpdateAsset	Update an asset name or move it to another group.
Delete an asset	/volc/asset/DeleteAsset	Delete one asset by ID.
Delete an asset group	/volc/asset/DeleteAssetGroup	Delete one asset group by ID.

Common flow

1. Create a group and save its GroupId.
2. Upload an image, video, or audio asset and save the returned Id.
3. Poll GetAsset or ListAssets until the status is Active.
4. Use asset://<ID> in a supported Seedance request.
5. Delete assets or groups when they are no longer needed.

Visual validation uses a separate session token and an API key with the required permission; do not mix it with ordinary asset uploads.
